Natural Materials

Inspired by nature, COCO-MAT uses exclusively natural and recyclable materials to manufacture its products.

Materials such as cotton, coconut, rubber, seaweed, eucalyptus, wood, horsehair, linen, wool, cactus, and lavender, sourced from Greece and Europe, are used in the composition of all products.

Cotton

Cotton - A lightweight, comfortable, and soft material that keeps us cool by allowing the body to breathe. It's a pleasant fabric to wear and naturally hypoallergenic, with impressive water-absorbing properties.

Natural Materials - Coconut fibre

Coconut fiber

The outer husk of the famous coconut fruit is made up of a mass of fine, strong fibers. These are extracted, processed into layers, and used in our products after the addition of liquid natural rubber for improved elasticity. Coconut fibers are renowned for their durability and excellent insulating properties, while still allowing sufficient ventilation in the final product.

Natural rubber

Natural rubber comes in the form of a milky sap and is harvested from the trunk of the tropical Hevea tree. Using a traditional method, the sap is transformed into layers of a product that is the epitome of elasticity. Natural rubber is an exceptionally durable material whose porous texture allows for ample ventilation. Furthermore, it is considered an inhospitable environment for microbes and bacteria.

ALGAE

A treasure of rare quality, seaweed grows abundantly in the famous seas and, for example, on the Greek coast. We harvest and clean it with care. Seaweed contains iodine, an essential component of thyroid hormones and vital for health. Seaweed is served in salads in Greece and in sushi worldwide. One of its benefits is to combat allergies, asthma, and respiratory ailments.

Eucalyptus

Well-known and highly respected for its soothing properties and characteristic fragrance, these fragrant leaves are traditionally used as a remedy. They help strengthen the immune system, relieve respiratory ailments, and have a positive effect on concentration. We use dried eucalyptus leaves that exude their refreshing scent.

Natural Materials - Wood

WOOD

Wood – a material renowned for its flexibility and maximum strength. COCO-MAT uses solid wood, strictly untreated with chemicals, allowing the quality, grace, and authentic beauty of this age-old material to work its magic.

Horsehair

Horsehair creates a dry environment and benefits people suffering from rheumatism, thanks to its moisture-regulating properties. The material we use comes from the horse's mane and tail. It is shaped into several layers, then sprayed with natural rubber for added elasticity.

Natural Materials - Linen

LINEN

Linen comes from a humble plant, but its history is rich, as it is among the elite in the world of textile manufacturing. Linen fabrics are sumptuously soft, exceptionally absorbent, and very durable. Linen is well known as a "cool fabric," particularly suited to warmer seasons.

WOOL

Thanks to its unique insulating properties, wool is perhaps the only material capable of keeping us warm in winter and cool in summer. With its amazing ability to absorb one-third of its weight in water, it manages to naturally regulate the humidity of the environment.

Natural Materials - Cactus

cactus

This robust plant has been present on our planet for nearly 35 million years. Yet, its rare properties have remained virtually unchanged thanks to human ingenuity. We use its extremely strong and resistant fibers—in thin layers—to regulate humidity and maintain a dry environment.

LAVENDER

A fragrant shrub native to the Mediterranean region, renowned for its healing properties, which our ancestors knew how to utilize. Its essential oil is widely used in cosmetics, perfumes, balms, and medicines. COCO-MAT uses dried lavender flower buds indoors and under pillows to promote peaceful sleep and relaxation.
